Beautiful light: Share Six Monthly Blog

In moments when the weather decides not to be on our side, the solution often lies in crafting our own illumination indoors. This particular photoshoot took place within the confines of my home studio, where I harnessed the power of controlled lighting to overcome the outdoor limitations. Armed with my trusty Nikon Z6II camera, accompanied by the versatile Nikon 28-75mm f2.8 lens, I embarked on the mission to encapsulate the essence of the occasion.

By orchestrating the interplay of light and shadow, I aimed to capture the genuine emotions and connections that unfolded within the cozy setting. The studio environment allowed for a focused and personalized experience, enabling me to emphasize the subtleties that might have been lost in a larger, less controlled space.

As you peruse through the resulting images, I sincerely hope they convey the warmth and intimacy that was shared during this session. So, here’s to transcending the unpredictable elements through creative adaptation and to capturing timeless memories that resonate. Your appreciation for these photographs would be the icing on the cake of this endeavor.

Farewell Sarah

We organized a cozy get-together to bid farewell to Sarah, who was embarking on her journey to an IB college in China. During this event, I had the pleasure of capturing some wonderful moments for Sarah’s family right in my own home studio.

Despite the brief planning time, the gathering turned out to be a delightful reunion after a considerable period of time. While the weather earlier in the day seemed quite ominous, fortunately, it took a turn for the better as the evening approached.

I used a Nikon Z6II camera paired with a 28-75mm f2.8 lens and enhanced the lighting with Godox lights to capture these images. I sincerely hope that you derive as much enjoyment from viewing them as I did from taking them.

30 Minutes in a Life : July

Ever since I graduated from high school, I have maintained a deep connection with my alma mater, SEBS. Over the years, I have held multiple positions and served on various boards. This year was particularly special as we organized the annual general meeting and reunion to commemorate over 20 years of SEBS’ establishment in the United States, along with celebrating the 50th anniversary of Budhanilkantha School. The event was held in Manassas, Virginia, in the Greater Washington DC area from July 28 to July 30.

During the gathering, we had the opportunity to reminisce about old times, share fond memories, and reflect on the incredible journey that brought us together. The atmosphere was filled with nostalgia and camaraderie as alumni from different generations reunited to celebrate this significant milestone.

During the event, I captured some memorable moments through my own lens, and my son Arthur also contributed by taking a few photos. It was a joyous occasion, and I am excited to share some of these cherished photographs from the event.

August: Adamski Effect

This month’s theme for our monthly blog revolves around the captivating “Adamski effect.” For those who may not be acquainted with it, the Adamski effect is achieved by duplicating your photo using editing software like Photoshop. The technique involves selecting the main subject on the top layer to retain sharp focus, while applying motion or path blur to the lower background layer, resulting in a beautifully blurry and dreamy backdrop.

Due to various commitments and limited opportunities for outdoor photography this month, I decided to explore this effect using a combination of portraits and pictures from my previous trip.

I hope you enjoy these photographs and the quick editing I employed to achieve this mesmerizing effect.

Transit in Doha, Qatar (June 2023)

I had to unexpectedly travel to Nepal, and on my journey, we were compelled to take a later flight from Doha due to a slight delay in our arrival. Fortunately, the airline provided us with a hotel accommodation and a meal voucher as a gesture of goodwill. Once we reached the hotel, we contemplated the options for a city tour. After everyone had freshened up and enjoyed their meals, we set out to explore the city, embarking on a nighttime adventure. The scorching daytime heat, with temperatures soaring up to 44°C (111°F), made us grateful that we were experiencing the city in the cooler evening hours. All these photos were taken with Iphone13 Pro Max, as that was the only camera with me on this trip.

Short Trip to New York (April 2023)

We recently went on a day trip to New York City and made the most of our short stay. We hopped on the early morning Amtrak train and returned on the first train the next morning. Despite the less-than-ideal weather conditions, we managed to pack in plenty of activities during our brief 24-hour visit. Please see some of the photos from the trip.
