Where the road takes you

Share Six Monthly Blog (October 2026)

This month the road took us to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It is a place we have heard about so many times but never visited. Since it was only a short drive, we decided to make a day trip and finally see some of the history for ourselves.

We chose to take the guided bus tour, which made the whole experience easier and more enjoyable. We could sit, listen, and take in the scenery while the guide explained the landmarks and the events that happened across the fields around us. Hearing the stories while looking at the actual locations helped everything make more sense.

Gettysburg is peaceful now. Wide fields, gentle hills, and monuments scattered across the landscape. It is difficult to imagine what happened there, but being present gives it a different kind of meaning. Each stop along the tour offered a new detail or a different perspective on the battle.

Azure brought his usual energy to the trip. He loved the cannons, the open space, and the tall monuments. His curiosity added some lightness to the day and reminded us that learning can also be fun.

By the end of the tour we felt like we had learned a lot while also enjoying a relaxing day out. Gettysburg left us with a deeper appreciation for the stories that shaped the country. It was another reminder that the road often takes you exactly where you need to go.

Thank you for visiting and for following along with the Share Six community. Each artist brings a unique voice to the theme, and together we create a richer story. Be sure to stop by Janet’s post to see how she interpreted this month’s theme.
